restarting nursing

I quit nursing, I suppose you could say two days ago. I have been very slowly doing away with the human nipple for as long as I have been nursing henry. He is a good kid, easy going, just goes with the flow - but I have now no flow...so I haven't nursed. But I want to...for a few reasons...

1) it's pretty convenient. especially at 4am. I bump Ryan, he goes and gets him, brings him to bed. I nurse as I sleep. When I am done, I bump Ryan, and he brings him back.

2) it makes me skinny. No explanation needed.

3)I have heard it's good for them. At this point, though I don't think that's the best reason.

4)It gives me an excuse to go away sometimes, like if were at a party and I just want to duck away, I can use the old excuse of nursing (whether or not I am).

5) i think the prolactin actually relaxes me, I dont know maybe that's just a placebo effect.

so anyway, tonight I decided to take the plunge and dust off the old milk machine. I even sacraficed an old bra and cut little slits in it so I can go hands free (meaning I can get lots of blogging done!)

I don't know how long it will last. If it doesn't last long, at least I have a nice new bra that my nipples can stick out of. Sweet....

If it weren't for you, stupid internet...

I need to stop blaming all my children on the fact that "I don't have the time." Really the problem is the stupid internet. If it weren't for you, stupid internet, I would have more time.

What happens is, I have a question about something...so I plop down in front of the computer to do some "quick research." In the meantime, my kids are pouring milk down between the crack of the table and finding it to be most amusng how it falls down to the floor...and I miss this event. I hear them laughing, get irritated, question my parenting coping skills, wonder if I'm going through some sort of post-partum psychosis, and go and plop back down on the computer to find out... it's a terrible cycle!

If I hadn't questioned that first thing in the first place (which was this: what is tequila made from? Answer: some plant that looks like a cactus, and it isn't as I suspected made from worms), the meal would have been more clean and I wouldn't have been such a spazzoid.

oh yea, and then I think about how I shoudl blog this revolutionary idea of mine and the cycle starts all over again.

1) Big fancy pretty.

2) Simple wouldn't require much work a-tall.

3) Another big and fancy, but still simple one.

4) nice, and simple

I think it actually WAS starting...

I delivered Henry (without induction, thank you very much) on Dec 20th. It's been a ride since, let me tell you. Babies are boring. It's not that much more work but it sure feels like it when you have the flu.

it's ... starting.

but again, this could only be false-labor. so I'm moving about as if it's not happening.
actually I'm afraid to sit b/c then I'd have to get up.

I have the kids today, it's not easy being me.
